Tape saturation and double-tracker effects pedal that delivers detailed recreation of the mechanics and technology of two vintage studio reel-to-reel tape decks and their interactions, and nuanced sonic delivery of the classic saturation effects of the tape record/playback process. The Tape Saturation smoothes out the sound with familiar and delicious tape compression and saturation, while fattening it with subtle tape-driven transparent overdrive. The Doubletracker provides the power to shift the sound in many ways, easily allowing you to achieve syrupy slapback tape echoes, psychedelic tape flanging, and gorgeous tape chorusing sounds. The pedal features simple and intuitive Lag Time knob for slapback delays, tape echoes, tape flanging and tape chorusing; two Tape Saturation adjustment and tone shaping knobs – Saturation and Level; three Doubletracker adjustment and tone shaping knobs (Lag Time, Blend, Wobble) and three Doubletracker blend types to tailor doubletracked sound (Sum, Invert, Bounce). It also has five “hidden” knobs for deep tone tweaking: High Trim, Low Trim, Auto-Flange Time, Wide Stereo Mode, +/- 3dB Boost/Cut. The pedal is equipped with super high performance SHARC DSP with 32-bit floating point processing, ultra low noise, high performance 24-bit 96kHz A/D and D/A converters, and premium analogue front end and output section. The pedal provides a high impedance mono input (internal jumper enables selectable TRS stereo input) and a stereo output, an expression pedal input that allows the connection of either an expression pedal (for selectable control over any knob parameter), external tap pedal (for remote control of Doubletracker) or Favourite switch (to save a favourite preset), and individual Tape Saturation Bypass and Doubletracker Bypass footswtiches. The +8dBu maximum input level easily handles instrument and line signals. The pedal is a true bypass (electromechanical relay switching) but also offers high quality, transparent Analog Buffered Bypass mode. It is powered with a standard 9V centre negative DC supply, 250mA current draw (included), and features strong and lightweight electroless nickel-plated aluminium chassis. Typical S/N ratio: 110 dB.
