True condenser microphone with an HF2 1” capsule with gold-plated diaphragm, ultra-low 6dBA self-noise and transformerless circuitry that exhibits exceptional performance when recording both vocals and instruments. Voiced for versatility, it has been hailed by many as the ultimate microphone for grand piano and drum overheads, but also makes a fantastic vocal microphone. With cardioid polar pattern, it provides full frequency range of 20 Hz-20 kHz and maximum SPL of 140 dB. The active electronics include a unity-gain closed-loop impedance converter and a JFET input with bipolar buffering.
