The thunderbird is the most respected bass guitar in the Gibson line, easily recognizable from its iconic body shape. The reversed body shape soon became the better non-reversed body shape, with a longer horn at the bass side, and with tuners at the bass side of the guitar's head. The model features a mahogany body and neck, and indian rosewood fingerboard.
